Fees & Getting Reimbursed
Resolve Psychological Services is an out-of network provider, as are most therapy providers in DC and nearby Virginia suburbs. This means that we collect payment at the time of service & provide you with an insurance-friendly receipt called a Superbill that Reimbursify will send to your insurance company so you can easily get your reimbursement check form your insurance company.
Yes! So long as you have out-of-network insurance benefits for mental health (often called “behavioral health”), your insurance company will mail you a check to reimburse you for some portion of what you have paid Resolve. All you have to do is submit the insurance-friendly receipt we give you, which is called a Superbill. You can submit it directly to your insurance company, or you can use an online service called Reimbursify to submit it for you.
Our fee is $250 - $300 per session. Every insurance company has a different policy for how they calculate their reimbursement checks, but most insurance companies send you a check for 60%-80% of what you have paid the practice, once your deductible is met. Check out the list of questions below for what we recommend asking your insurance company to determine the size of your check.
When you call your insurance company, we suggest asking the following questions, specifically:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for behavioral health?
What is my percentage reimbursement after my deductible is met?
How much is left on my deductible?
If I see a therapist in 22209 for $250 per session with session code 90834-95 (telehealth) or 90834 (in-person), what will I get back for each session? What about $300?
Do you mail a check to me for the reimbursement?
How to I submit the insurance friendly receipt, called a Superbill? (Hint, you can also submit easily directly through Reimbursify!)
The current fee per session is between $250 and $300 per 45 minute session. We strongly encourage you to submit your Superbill, which is an insurance-friendly receipt we provide you, to your insurance company to activate your out-of-network benefits. This will allow you to receive a reimbursement check from your insurance company. Please see details above on that process, and remember, Reimbursify is here to make submitting your Superbill easy & fast.
Preferred payment is by Zelle at payments@resolvepsychologicalservices.com, but we can arrange to accept all major credit card payments whenever needed.
Resolve Psychological Services has partnered with an online service called Reimbursify so that you can submit the insurance-friendly receipts we give you easily and quickly. Simply visit Reimbursify and upload the document that we send you, and any “out of network” benefits that you have will be activated.
Alternatively, you can submit the receipt, called a Superbill, to your insurance company directly.
Per 2022 law, Resolve will provide you a “Good Faith Estimate” estimating how much your care will cost for the calendar year.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
Your clinician will give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you begin care at Resolve. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
