Dr. Heather Leahy Hecht

FOUNDER & THERAPIST
Dr. Heather Leahy Hecht is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Resolve Psychological Services. Dr. Hecht is dedicated to serving her clients with the utmost care and competency. Dr. Hecht offers a warm therapeutic and provides a safe space for healing and growth. Dr. Hecht is a true generalist, offering services for people of all ages.

Dr. Hecht is well-trained in a wide range of clinical issues; among these are depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, eating disorders, relationship concerns, couples issues, LGBTQQIAAP concerns, grief, professional distress, and identity issues.

Dr. Hecht has has a specialty in the treatment of eating disorders and body image distress. She treats anorexia, binge eating disorder, bulimia, chronic dieting, and body dysmorphia. Dr. Hecht works from a body inclusive,”all foods fit” perspective. Dr. Hecht uses a health at every size (HAES) framework in her approach to care, helping you recover from the damaging messages created by our fat phobic diet culture. Dr. Hecht is a mother to two young children and personally experienced very challenging fertility obstacles for both pregnancies. These challenges moved Dr. Hecht towards a special interest in prenatal and postnatal concerns in psychotherapy, including fertility. Additionally, Dr. Hecht also loves to help people increase their psychological readiness for childbirth and the transition to motherhood. Dr. Hecht is already specialized in the treatment of children, but also offers parent coaching for parents of toddlers as an available service.

Dr. Hecht is also specialized in the treatment of relationship issues. Dr. Hecht offers treatment for single people who are struggling to navigate and sustain relationships as well as for couples having trouble getting out of dysfunctional relationship patterns. Dr. Hecht utilizes Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy and is a Certified Gottman couples therapist and uses interventions from both approaches to increase emotional intimacy and promote deep connectivity for couples. Jacqueline believes in Health at Every Size and body neutrality, and actively teaches her clients about Intuitive Eating. Jacqueline works with individuals with a variety of diagnosis such as Binge Eating Disorder, Purge Disorder, and Anorexia Nervosa. Jacqueline helps those with a range of disordered eating struggles whether they have a milder presentation or struggle letting go of maladaptive behaviors.

Jacqueline is well-trained in evidenced-based therapy techniques and uses top-of-the line treatment in her approach to care. Ms. Kate Vitolo is a psychotherapist dedicated to her work with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. Kate abides by a holistic and evidenced-based approach to therapy oriented toward aiding in self exploration, uncovering the root of the presenting problem(s), and collaboratively creating a plan of action based on each client’s individual set of goals, values, and experiences.

Kate strives to create a relaxed, supportive, and culturally competent therapeutic process. Kate has received training toward assisting individuals struggling with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, communication, self-esteem, emotional regulation, disordered eating, and identity exploration. Kate is trained to address OCD, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorder, to name a few. Kate understands relationship traumas, including infidelity trauma, and believes that it is possible to overcome infidelity in a relationship, with the right treatment. Kate is well-versed in the grief associated with ending relationships, and is there to support, heal, and help you through your difficulties. Kate is an LGBTTQQIAAP-friendly clinician who is passionate about social and racial justice.

Kate is well versed in utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral-Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered therapeutic techniques. Kate is passionate about helping those in eating disorder recovery, or only beginning a journey to repair a disordered relationship with food and body. Kate loves to teach her clients a new way of thinking as it relates to eating and body image. Kate believes that All Foods Fit, that people can be Healthy at Every Size, and works with clients towards Intuitive Eating. Kate helps people who have diagnosed Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and/or Binge Eating, as well as people who have a milder presentation, not yet been diagnosed, or have been diagnosed with other types of disordered eating, like Purging Disorder, ARFID, and Orthorexia. Kate is an addiction specialist, and understands how addictive restriction, purging, and other disordered behaviors can be, and the pain of letting go.

Kate prides herself on creating a supportive experience for her clients while simultaneously encouraging them to push past their personal barriers in their drive toward self-actualization. She realizes how much courage it takes to ask for help and believes that it is important for the therapeutic process to be effective while also enjoyable. Lauren Kane, M.Ed.

Lauren Kane, M.Ed., is a dedicated Resident in Counseling who brings clinical excellence to those she serves. Lauren provides evidence-based, effective care for anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, relationship issues, couples, and families. Lauren’s care rests on principles of body inclusivity, cultural inclusivity, & LGBTQ+ allied values.
Lauren provides guidance for individuals navigating the complexities of the dating world or facing challenges within long-term relationships. She utilizes Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method therapeutic techniques when working with couples to repair intimacy and lost connection. Lauren recognizes the impact of relationship traumas, such as infidelity, frequent rejection, stonewalling, and blame, and believes in the power of healing through treatment. Lauren earned an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. She is currently licensed as a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Jennifer Kauffman-Walker, Ph.D., LPC, and Heather Hecht, Psy.D.
