Ms. Katharine Vitolo is a psychotherapist dedicated to her work with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. Kate abides by a holistic and evidenced-based approach to therapy oriented toward aiding in self exploration, uncovering the root of the presenting problem(s), and collaboratively creating a plan of action based on each client’s individual set of goals, values, and experiences. Kate strives to create a relaxed, supportive, and culturally competent therapeutic process.
Kate has received training toward assisting individuals struggling with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, communication, self-esteem, emotional regulation, disordered eating, and identity exploration. Kate is very experienced with working with high-achievers, workaholics, and students who work tirelessly to achieve but struggle with the emotional consequences of their achievement drive. EATING DISORDERS

Kate is specialized in eating disorder treatment. Kate is passionate about helping those in eating disorder recovery, or only beginning a journey to repair a disordered relationship with food and body. Kate loves to teach her clients a new way of thinking as it relates to eating and body image. Kate believes that All Foods Fit, that people can be Healthy at Every Size, and works with clients towards Intuitive Eating. Kate helps people who have diagnosed Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and/or Binge Eating, as well as people who have a milder presentation, not yet been diagnosed, or have been diagnosed with other types of disordered eating, like Purging Disorder, ARFID, and Orthorexia. Kate is an addiction specialist, and understands how addictive restriction, purging, and other disordered behaviors can be, and the pain of letting go.

Kate takes a trauma-informed approach to care, using evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a gold-standard intervention for PTSD, and when working with children, she uses Trauma-Focused CBT. Kate provides couples therapy using Emotionally-Focused and Gottman therapeutic techniques. Kate understands relationship traumas, including infidelity trauma, and believes that it is possible to overcome infidelity in a relationship, with the right treatment. Kate is well-versed in the grief associated with ending relationships, and is there to support, heal, and help you through your difficulties. Kate is passionate about working with children and adolescents. With a warm and attuned presence, she naturally connects with young people and understands the emotional challenges that can arise while growing up. Kate provides developmentally appropriate care for children as young as five and is deeply committed to helping families heal from early emotional distress. Her goal is to ensure that your child feels heard, safe, and supported. Kate draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for children, Trauma-Focused CBT, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), play therapy, therapeutic children’s literature, and parent coaching—collaborating with caregivers to find effective and meaningful strategies for growth and healing.

Kate is a Resident in Counseling supervised by Jennifer Kauffman-Walker; PhD, LPC and Heather Hecht, Psy.D. Kate is also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Kate received her Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. 
Kate prides herself on creating a supportive experience for her clients while simultaneously encouraging them to push past their personal barriers in their drive toward self-actualization. She realizes how much courage it takes to ask for help and believes that it is important for the therapeutic process to be effective while also enjoyable.
